Marketing a Game - Looking for Input

Talk about anything and everything game dev-related here!
It's that release is when media and storefronts care, and that's how you get nearly all of your exposure! But it's also true that the anticipation makes people more excited to get the game, so getting fed information about it before it's available has them chomping at the bit to buy it immediately. Games can rarely live up to the hype, though, so post-launch the mediocre and bad reviews also start to appear. Even if those are in the minority people who otherwise would have been pumped may now be more suspicious about risking their bucks.

Noted. The next game I make will stay in blue balls mode until it's fermented and frothy. I have plans for some non-traditional marketing in the very near future. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
